As I have stated before in my articles, according to Albert Einstein, everything is energy. Nothing in existence isn’t simply energy, and since everything in existence is energy, energy healing has been found to be very effective at helping people. It works on an energetic level as its name implies. In other words, it works on a level at which everything exists. It has also been found, however, to actually benefit people on all levels, including the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual levels as well.
Energy healing encompasses a variety of modalities (healing methods), all of which focus on the concept of an energy field or life force that flows through and around the human body. This life force is known by different names in various cultures: "chi" in Chinese medicine, "prana" in Hindu philosophy, and "ki" in Japanese traditions.
The goal of energy healing is to balance and harmonize this life force, which is essential for maintaining physical, mental, and emotional health. Practitioners of energy healing aim to remove energy blockages, replenish depleted energy, and restore the body's natural ability to heal itself. Practitioners often heal specific issues as well.
Depending on the specific healing modality that is used, energy healing often involves visualization and can involve channeling healing energy into a person to restore balance and to facilitate healing. It is often used to complement traditional medical treatments also.
Energy healing practitioners and individuals have firsthand experience of how imbalances and blockages in energy can lead to discomfort, pain, and illness. Using various techniques, practitioners identify and correct these imbalances and blockages, allowing energy to flow freely and support the body's natural healing process.
Common Techniques in Energy Healing:
Reiki: A Japanese technique that involves channeling universal life force energy with loving intent to the recipient. Practitioners often use this energy to help reduce stress, promote relaxation, balance the chakras, to heal, and to promote and support healing.
Acupuncture: Part of traditional Chinese medicine, Acupuncture involves inserting thin needles into specific points on the body to stimulate energy flow, restore balance, and to heal.
Therapeutic Touch: This technique involves the practitioner moving their hands over the patient's body without direct contact to assess energy fields and make adjustments.
Qigong: A Chinese practice that combines movement, meditation, and controlled breathing to enhance energy flow and improve health
Violet Flame Reiki: Practitioners use visualization and channel Violet Flame Reiki energy along with invoking (calling upon) the help of goddess Kwan Yin who aids in the Reiki healing session. Violet Flame Reiki also automatically flows through to the practitioner and aids in all of the healing sessions of all of the healing modalities for which the practitioner is attuned once the practitioner has been attuned to the Violet Flame Reiki energy.
The Violet Flame: Also known as St. Germain’s Violet Flame, is a combination of energy healing and visualization and heals on all levels: the physical and cellular levels and the mental, emotional, and spiritual levels. It transmutes negative energy into divine energy.
Angel Reiki: It involves invoking (calling upon) the help of the archangels to assist with Reiki healing sessions.
These examples highlight just a few of the modalities within the fascinating field of energy healing, though others exist as well. Each involves its own unique method to facilitate healing.
In energy healing, the intention of both, the practitioner and the recipient, is considered to be critical. A focused intention can enhance the effectiveness of the healing process. Practitioners often meditate or use visualization techniques to strengthen their focus and connection with the recipient.
Although this article should not be considered as medical advice since those who have medical issues should consult with their medical doctor in regard to any medical issues that they have, it is interesting to note that some medical facilities are now incorporating energy healing as a part of their integrative therapy programs. For example, the Henry Ford Center for Integrative Medicine, which is located throughout Metro-Detroit, Michigan, offers Reiki as an integrative therapy to promote relaxation, ease stress, and support healing, and Yoga and Acupuncture are also offered. Similarly, the Bio Energy Medical Center in Ann Arbor, Michigan, integrates energy-based approaches alongside conventional treatments to support holistic wellness. These are just two examples of medical facilities that are now offering energy healing as a part of their integrative medicine programs.
Integrative medicine focuses on treating the whole person, combining conventional medical care with complementary therapies like Acupuncture, Reiki, and other energy healing modalities. Its presence in integrative health centers is growing, which means that the presence of energy healing in general is growing in the medical field.
Energy healing is a gentle, non-invasive and natural approach to health and well-being that can offer numerous benefits. By understanding energy in general and the body's energy, practitioners and recipients alike can work towards achieving a harmonious and healthy state of being.
